Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning huge earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As both boxers participated in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really happening.
