2K Games has welcomed a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to direct the studio crew at their internal studio, which is currently developing the forthcoming third-person action-packed title known as this innovative game.

The new appointee steps into the role of studio head at 31st Union following the dismissal of previous head Michael Condrey, who was removed from his post due to Project Ethos' underwhelming early showing last autumn.

On Wednesday, the company's top executive a key figure updated team members about this organizational change through an internal memo, which highlighted that playtesting had revealed the need for a distinct vision.

The president stated that the team is now refining Project Ethos with a revised approach, aiming to better meet community desires.

The belief in Project ETHOS strengthens every day. To boost the incredible advancement you’ve made, I am thrilled to announce Ben Brinkman as the new Director of the team. After a period of conversations, Ben comes aboard us on the specified date.

Ben’s management and experience in the PVP shooter field is vast, having dedicated the recent years producing and leading some of the most popular series in the industry, such as Call of Duty: Black Ops, and more recently, Apex Legends.

Brinkman currently serves in the role of executive producer and head of production at Respawn Entertainment for their flagship title. He earlier was employed at major gaming companies in diverse development positions on the Call of Duty games, and, earlier in his career, had stints at 2K and Electronic Arts.

The upcoming game was revealed in October 2024 together with a public demo. Then, 31st Union presented the title as a "no-cost, third-person perspective roguelike hero shooter and an thrilling advancement on the genre."
